Berty L. Elliott
age 96, of Camden, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 7, 2024.
She was born October 14, 1928, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, to the late Walter N. and Mary E. (Sunderman) Willeford.
In addition to her parents, Berty was preceded in death by her husband, Loren G. Elliott; brothers; Adolf, Ben, Bill, George (Eileen), Ed, Joe, Bobby, Paul, Fred, and Carl; sisters, Minnie (Lloyd) Gingerich, Rose (Bob) Costello, and Mary Anna (Charles) Surguy.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Tom) Crumbaker and Scott (Carla) Elliott; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Patty) Willeford.
Berty's hands were never still, whether tending to her cherished flower garden or crafting beautiful quilts. Known for her love of all things pink and her admiration of delicate irises, she filled her garden with blooms that brought color and joy to everyone around her. Her sewing skills created not only warmth but a sense of comfort in every piece she stitched, proof of her creative spirit and loving heart.
Deeply curious about her roots, Berty spent countless hours tracing the branches of her family tree, piecing together her genealogy with the same care she put into her quilts. She also had a passion for journaling, capturing her thoughts and experiences until she could no longer hold the pen. Her family will forever treasure those memories, each word a reflection of her strength, wisdom, and warmth.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 13 at 10AM at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
