Daniel Glen Woodard

49, born at Miami Valley Hospital January 27, 1971.

He graduated from Eaton High School and attended Miami University – Hamilton.  He worked at AK Steel and was nearing retirement from the US Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wendy; and their children, Maddie, Riane, Brenna, Jake, and Korrie. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Fleming Reed; his father Doug (Peggy) Woodard; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Pam “Squeek” Barrett and Wendell Barrett.  Additionally, he is survived by brothers, Steve (Michelle) Woodard and Dustin Woodard. Also, Glenna Cunningham, Judy (Barry) Austin, and Bonnie (Ernest) Crabtree, Camden area; Brian (Cindra) Fleming, Jacksonville Fl; Barbara (Randy) Wright, Eaton; Susan Fleming and Bob Scott, West Alexandria; Grace (John) Glimmerveen, Savannah, GA; and Laura Kasserman, Germantown; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dan was an avid sports fan and closely followed high school and college and professional sports.  He continued to play basketball in an “old man’s league” until this year.  Dan decided to give the gift of life by being an organ donor.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 11AM to 1PM at Christ Commission Temple, 155 N Main St., Camden, 45311.  The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Larry Davidson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flower the family has established a memorial fund in Dan’s memory that will provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Preble Shawnee.  Envelopes will be provided at the church or you may mail it to The Dayton Foundation with “Dan Woodard Memorial Fund” in the memo line to 1401 S. Main St., Suite 100, Dayton, OH 45409.
