Fred Hurley
93, of Camden, formerly Hamilton, went to be with the Lord and his wife, Rosemary, Saturday, October 16, 2021.
He was born July 22, 1928 in Hamilton, to the late Thomas J. and Sarah M. (Stewart) Hurley.
In addition to his parents and wife, Fred was preceded in death by his sisters, Dosha Chandler and Ruth Armstrong; and brother-in-law, Rev. James R. Armstrong.
Fred is survived by his son, Randy (Janine) Hurley; grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Hurley, Jaime Hurley, and Ryan (Kelly) Hurley; great grandchildren, Breanna Hurley, Mia Hurley, Gabby Hurley, Liam Hurley, and Holden Hurley; sister, Pearl Armstrong; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a child growing up in Hamilton, Fred played knothole baseball with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer, Joe Nuxhall. In Fred’s words, he “caught for Joe.” He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Fred retired form Beckett Paper after 46 years of service and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 21 from 10AM to 12PM at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty Street, Camden 45311. The funeral service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton.
