Garry Kent Matthews

Garry K. Matthews, age 66, of Jeffersonville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 22, 1958, in Xenia, Ohio, to his parents Roy and Beverly Matthews, Garry's life was marked by love and dedication to his family and passions. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lewis Matthews, and nephew, Casey Raby.

He is survived by the love of his life, Margaret (Shoemaker) Matthews, whom he married on September 12, 1980. Their union blessed them with over 44 years of shared memories and unwavering companionship. His amazing children; daughter, Ashley (Chris Miller) Matthews; son Adam (Brittany) Matthews; and his cherished grandchildren: Gavyn, Kylie, Charleigh, Athena, Ryver, and Ezra. He is also survived by his dearly loved mother, Beverly Matthews; Additionally, Garry leaves behind his siblings: Larry (Carrie) Matthews, Vicki Matthews, Terry (Mel) Matthews, and Veda Matthews; a special cousin Buster Beekman; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members and friends.

Garry dedicated over 40 years of his life to truck driving, a career he began at the age of 18. His passion for farming, instilled in him from an early age, was evident throughout his life. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. His love for his mother was profound, and he cherished every moment spent with her.

He enjoyed watching football and playing farm simulator on PlayStation. He was a loving and caring man and father who always thought of others and made everyone feel special.

Garry will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025, from 12 to 4PM at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, Mayhem Building 213 Fairview Ave. Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
