Joe Clevenger
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Joe, a cherished friend, beloved family member, and passionate enthusiast of life's simple joys. Joe's journey on this earth ended on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering loyalty.
He is survived by a very large extended family. Essentially, if you were a friend, he considered you family. A few special people who came into his life were his foster parents, Wayne and Pam Rader; sister, Sherie Snowden; “grandma,” who helped at his home; and Holly Lovely and the staff at Your Happy Place.
He graduated from Preble Shawnee High School where he was a proud member of the football team which had a huge, life changing impact effect.
A dedicated fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, Joe's passion for his team knew no bounds. His enthusiasm for Buckeye sports was contagious, uniting fans far and wide in a shared love for the scarlet and gray.
He reveled in the thrill of scary movies and delighted in the spookiness of Halloween, eagerly anticipating the festivities each year with childlike excitement.
One of his favorite pastimes was playing pool, where he showcased both skill and sportsmanship, enjoying friendly competition with friends and fellow players.
Many in our community will fondly recall seeing Joe seated on the bench in front of the library, a familiar and comforting presence. Whether lost in thought or engaged in conversation, he radiated a quiet kindness that touched the lives of all who crossed his path.
And now, in Joe’s honor, lift your hands and raise your voices in a great BIG, O-H-I-O!
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30 at 1PM at Bridgepoint Community Church, 2564 Somerville Rd, Somerville, OH 45064.
