Sandra Lee Ferguson
78, of Camden, was called Home by God to end her suffering, on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
She was born November 24, 1946, in Hamilton, to the late McCager B. and Rachel M. (Chaney) Robertson.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her siblings, Reggie Robertson, Verneda Rader, Janet Hall, and Marvin Robertson.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ed Ferguson; son, Bryon Ferguson; daughter Becky (Chris) Norris; grandchildren, Samantha, Andy, Zoey, Aaron, Elliott, and Stella; great granddaughter, Elianna; and siblings, Carolyn Simpson, Kathy Sheehan, and Dan Robertson.
Sandra grew up on a family farm along Camden-College Corner Road, where her appreciation for the simple joys of life took root. That rural upbringing in her instilled a deep sense of hard work, faith, and connection to the land—values she carried throughout her life.
A gifted artist, Sandra had a rare ability to bring imagination to life. She wrote and illustrated children’s books that delighted young readers and parents alike, and her drawings, especially her spot-on caricatures, never failed to capture both the likeness and the spirit of her subjects. Her art reflected her heart: vibrant, joyful, and full of wonder.
Sandra was a faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden, where her servant's heart truly shined. She found joy in cooking for community dinners, always eager to bring people together over a warm meal and good conversation. Whether she was preparing food, lending a hand, or simply sharing a smile, Sandra made everyone feel like family.
A private burial will be held Thursday, April 24 at 11AM at Fairmount Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty Street, Camden, at 12:30PM.
